At least each year federal and state inspectors visit each nursing home. The report cards listed are the results of their inspections. The report cards are broken into categories of deficiencies. Each category heading is the same, regardless of the type deficiency found. For instance, an inspector finds a corn flake on the floor in the kitchen. The category this write-up or deficiency would be in is Tag number 371, “Store, prepare, distribute, and serve food under sanitary conditions.” On the individual report cards, it won’t say that they found a corn flake on the floor, just that tag #371 was out of compliance. If you have questions, contact the nursing home, and they will be more than happy to go over the deficiency with you.
